5 Life-Changing Ways to Invest In Yourself

Last week, we talked about getting in the mindset on how to invest in yourself.

We want to get back to that mindset, so let’s pick up where we left off.

What’s your most valuable asset?

YOU.

You are your most important asset.  Everything in this world stems from the relationship you have with yourself and is directly related to the investment you have made in yourself.

I make massive investments in myself every single day.  And I’m not talking about money here. I’m talking about the moment-to-moment choices I make that move me forward and I’m talking about ways in which I nourish my mind, body and spirit, every single day. I’m talking about time, energy and about lifestyle.

Recently I sat down to think about how much time I spend investing in myself each day, and on average, I spend three hours PER DAY investing in MYSELF.  This time doesn’t include the time I spend caring for my family. Nor does it count the time I spend on my business.

In last week’s newsletter, I promised to give you five life-changing ways to invest in yourself.  The number of ways in which you can invest in yourself is endless, but I chose five of what I believe to be the most impactful ways you can invest in yourself.

I know December is always a busy month with the holidays and year-end goals, all on top of an already challenging year. So in the spirit of making this time together as efficient and effective as possible, I’m going to curate (that fancy word I introduced last week) the information in the form of a menu, that you can reference and choose from as fit.

1.) Develop a Spiritual Practice

A spiritual practice connects us to the essence of who we are, our Higher Self. Some examples are:

  • Meditation.
  • Deep breathing
  • Journal.
  • Spend time in nature.
  • Trust the process.
  • Surrender to your divine plan.
  • Ask for guidance from spirit guides.
  • Energy healing.
  • Spend time on manifestation.
  • Time in solitude.
  • Yoga.
  • Mindfulness.
  • Simplifying.
  • Morning Routine.
  • Evening Routine.

Everyone’s spiritual practice looks different, and there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to this. The fun part is trying out things and seeing what works for you.

2.) Find Your Tribe

  • Surrounding yourself with like-minded people who enrich your life in some way is one of the most powerful things you can do.
  • I know the pandemic has presented challenges with getting together with people in person, but there are still ways we can connect with people who have similar interests and values.
  • Seek out new friends
  • Join common interest groups
  • Start a new group

There are many ways to connect with people who enrich our lives spiritually, mentally, emotionally, physically, and culturally.  The importance of surrounding ourselves with these people cannot be over-emphasized.  Try connecting with new people this week!

3.) Explore the World

Put adventures and new experiences at the top of your list.  Doing this doesn’t mean you have to pack up and go on an extravagant vacation; it just means making your experiences new and meaningful.

New experiences include learning something new.  There is always another hobby or topic you can explore.  Expanding your mind into new territory can be so enriching.

  • Take a class.
  • Read a book.
  • Listen to a podcast.
  • Learn a new language.
  • Listen to a new genre of music.
  • Read blogs.
  • Get a new certification/degree.
  • Engage in deep conversations.
  • Explore astronomy.
  • Travel more or to new places.
  • Try a new restaurant.
  • Cook a new cuisine.
  • Try out new ingredients/foods.
  • Wander around and see where the day takes you.

There are countless ways to explore the world around us, and if we approach life with an adventurous spirit, every day will feel exciting and new.

4.) Prioritize Your Health and Wellness

Nourishing our mind and body helps us to not only feel better but helps us attract

better.  Here are several ways you can invest in your health and wellness:

  • Exercise regularly.
  • Drink plenty of water.
  • Get a massage.
  • Eat healthy meals.
  • Get adequate sleep.
  • Rest and relax.
  • Take an Epsom salt bath.
  • Exfoliate your skin.
  • Get a manicure/pedicure.
  • Take vitamins/supplements.
  • Enjoy some aromatherapy.
  • Love how you look and feel.
    • Wear clothes that make you feel amazing, get a new haircut, enhance your sense of style.
  • Spend time in the sauna or steam room.

As we invest in our minds and bodies, we naturally begin to feel better and exude different energy.  What you attract into your reality will be a direct reflection of how you’re feeling on the inside, so try some of these things today.

5.) Nurture Your Creativity

Creative endeavors connect us to the energy of creation and help enhance our spirituality.

Here are some creative endeavors you might want to try:

  • Painting
  • Drawing
  • Coloring
  • Cooking
  • Photography
  • Singing
  • Dancing
  • Sculpting
  • Writing
  • Creating videos

Have so much fun expressing yourself.  There are no rules. Just have fun. You can try these activities by yourself, or ask others to join you.

As we prepare for 2021, start thinking about how you can design your life so that making investments in yourself is what you do every day.  And as always, I am here to help.

Sending love and light your way.
