”We are all on this Earth for a limited time. Sobering as it may be, it’s reality. You have this one life and you deserve to be happy and are entitled to do your life your way.”
This quote is from my book SOAR. If you haven’t grabbed your copy yet, then you’re missing out.

Now onto my message for you today…
In life, we often find ourselves making decisions based on what others want for us, and not what we want for ourselves. We fear being judged and disappointing others. Above all, we fear failure.
Life can get complicated, and fast, as we try to keep up with the hustle and bustle of everyday life, all while trying to please others and live up to certain expectations, and it’s easy to become disconnected from who we are in the process.
This article will give you some thoughts to reflect on as you take the journey back to you.
This Life is About YOU
In SOAR, I made clear that this spiritual journey is about you. It’s about aligning your beliefs, thoughts, and actions so that you are living a life that is authentic.
Here’s a passage from SOAR:
“You are the only one living your reality. You are the only one walking in your shoes. You are the only one navigating this human experience from your vantage point. You are the only one who is intimately familiar with your belief system. You are the only one who truly knows your desires, preferences, and intolerances. You are the one who has to live with the repercussions of your decisions day in and day out, regardless of what they may be.”
Are you living a life that is true to who you are? Where what you believe, say, and do, aligned? Are you honest and authentic with yourself? Do you feel at ease in your life?
When we are in touch with who we are, living from the soul, doing life our way, there’s unmistakable energy. You feel empowered. Energized. Limitless. Peaceful.
I want to warn you that this spiritual journey isn’t all butterflies and rainbows. You have to be the one doing the heavy lifting. Take responsibility for your life, and design it in a way that reflects who you are. Nobody is coming to whisk you away and escort you to your authentic self.
I often use mountain symbolism when I talk about the spiritual journey. The view from the top is breathtaking. Life-changing. Spectacular. Never-ending. But what’s between you and the top of that mountain? A long, hard climb, but the top view is so worth it.
This article will give you some thoughts to reflect on, as you embark on the path of doing your life, your way.
What is Limiting You?
Have you noticed how kids have carefree spirits, doing and saying whatever they feel? We all start in that same place but lose it as limitations are being imposed.
Society conditions us that we need to follow a certain path to happiness and success. Go to college, get a job, get married, buy a house, have kids, buy a bigger house, prepare for retirement. The reality is there are many different paths to happiness and success.
Doubt can be a huge limiting factor. Its presence has effects on what we manifest. In SOAR, I talk about manifestation as the art of co-creating your reality with the universe. The vibrations of doubt and manifestation are two very different frequencies the can never co-exist.
“Just as we cannot physically be in two different cities at any given point in time, we also cannot entertain the vibration of two totally disparate concepts at the same time. It needs to be one or the other. If you’re harboring doubt, then you aren’t in a position to manifest. If you’re manifesting, then there is no room for doubt.”
Fear can bind us. It comes in many shapes and sizes that hold us back. Fear of failure, success, being judged, and fear of the unknown. Fear of dying, rejection, change, and the list goes on. SOAR dives into this concept and shows how we can transmute fear into power. Fear is not the enemy, but giving our power over to it is. It is a necessary and welcome part of the human condition, as it brings awareness to what we don’t want, and gives us an opportunity to craft a life that we want.
Exploring these limiting factors and beliefs is an essential part of the spiritual journey and helps us discover our essence.
Are You Ready to Do Life Your Way?
I’ll end with this quote from “SOAR” which serves as a backdrop for doing life your way, and reminds us all to anchor on living a life that is true to who we are.
“It’s no longer about conforming to mainstream culture. It’s about doing you and not worrying about how it fits or doesn’t fit the mold of what others are doing. It’s not about getting others to understand it, and everything to do with living your truth.”
