Let the Universe Take the Wheel

Okay, so today, we’re doing a little storytime.

This might be a good time to make some popcorn, coffee, or whatever helps you settle into this post because it’s gonna be longer than usual.

I want to share a personal experience I had, and not just tell you but show you how spirituality works in our lives.

So I was driving my daughter back up to school (she goes to Marquette in Milwaukee), and we were about 15 minutes away, still on the expressway, when something came totally out of the blue.

But first, let me rewind for a moment to a few days before we left because this is an important part of the story.

We were talking about which car to take, and a few times, my daughter said, “Let’s take the Mazda.” The Mazda is the kids’ car – a little smaller than mine, but a hatchback, and we can fold the seats down, so it would be easier to pack bigger, bulkier items.

Every time she brought up taking the Mazda, I said, “I really think we should take my car.” Every time she was like, “Okaaaaaaay. You’re reeeeeallllyyyy set on taking your car, aren’t you?”

I’m usually flexible and open-minded – I mean, why wouldn’t I want to take the car that practically made the most sense? But in this case, I felt very strongly that we should take my car. It really didn’t make sense to me either, logically, but my gut was telling me, “Take your car.”

Fast-forward back to move-in day.

We packed up my car. The weather was perfect – mid-70s, sunny, and excitement levels were high as we had a super fun day ahead, getting her room all setup and organized.

We were clipping along at expressway speed, all that came to a screeching halt when, out of the blue, a wheel (not just the rubber tire), but a fully-assembled wheel, metal and all, flew out of an open trailer being pulled by the car in front of us, straight into the front of our car.

We saw it coming, but I stayed calm and knew to stay the course and operate in full faith.

Had I operated from fear, I would have swerved or slammed on the brakes, and it would have involved several other cars, as the expressway was full of cars heading north.

It felt like spirit took over the wheel and led. I have no other explanation.

My beliefs were in full effect here. I believe the universe always has my back (and, in this case, my front, too). I believe that life is always working out for me. I believe that life is always rigged in my favor. 1000 times over.

I believe that inviting the universe into my life, day in and day out, deliberately co-creating, helped us come out of this unscathed.

Unscathed.

If that isn’t validation that life is working out for me, I’m not sure what is.

Are you starting to see how all this works? Super cool, right? What happens when you relax and allow?

Intuition – super powerful.

Living in a state of trust rather than fear – super powerful.

Another one of my beliefs is that there are no coincidences. Everything that happens is in the highest good, for not just me, but for ALL. And this applies to all life experiences – I can’t cherry-pick and say some were coincidences and some were not.

So that said, I had the not-so-small task of figuring out the spiritual meaning in all of this.

It isn’t the first time that sheer craziness/chaos came our way – in fact, it happens on the reg – so I asked my coach if she thought there was something about my energy that turns otherwise balanced energy systems upside down and attracts what appears to be, at least on the surface, chaos.

Go to my post on social media on September 6th to hear the full interpretation.

But for now, a few takeaways –

Trust your gut. Always. Even when it doesn’t make logical sense. Your soul knows what’s best for you.

Surrender – Let the Universe take the wheel. You don’t have to control every step of the way. Let go and let God, and you will be taken care of.

Your beliefs drive your life experiences. Your life plays out according to the story you’re telling yourself.

As I sit here and write this, I’m feeling immense appreciation – for the opportunity to show up and serve you. Thank you for being on this journey with me.

When you’re ready to let the universe guide your life, reach out.

I’d be honored to show you the way.
