First off, a great big THANK YOU to everyone who took the time to tell me what Natty is.
I kept wondering “Who’s Natty, and why is she in Styrofoam?”
Now I know.
Apparently I live under a rock.
In case you missed it, you can check out last week’s newsletter here.
Well, I may not have known what Natty was, but I sure could crush it in a game of boujie drink trivia.
Which brings us to this week’s topic — healthy drinks!
Many of my execs are in back to back meetings throughout the day and often comment that they go several hours without having anything to eat.
Some even rely exclusively on coffee or sugary energy drinks to get them through.
Seems to work for a bit, but then, the inevitable energy crash– not to mention loads of surplus sugar.
Can you relate?
If you don’t have time to stop and eat, a quick and easy alternative is to drink your nutrition.
This week I’m sharing with you 4 of my favorite go-to drinks. I’ve developed these recipes over the years, and make them all throughout the week.
You can even make them by the pitcher and share them with the fam too.
I’m giving you my “recipes” here, but keep in mind that quantities are just a guide. I want you to make these your own. If you don’t like something, leave it out. And if you want to add in something else, do so.
Here you go:
Chocolate-Banana Protein Shake
1 scoop chocolate protein powder **I use Ancient Nutrition Plant Protein. Available at Whole Paycheck— I mean Whole Foods. Kidding! I love the store 🙂
1 banana
1 cup almond milk (or other plant-based milk)
1 teaspoon cacao powder
½ teaspoon maca powder
1 tablespoon almond butter
Ice
Blend the above ingredients in a blender and enjoy!
Green Detox Juice
If you don’t have a juicer, it’s definitely a worthwhile investment. I have a Breville and it’s amazing.
Batch this one. The juicer requires a bit of extra cleanup than blenders used for smoothies, so batching is a huge time-saver. It stays fresh for 48 hrs, so you’d only gave to do it about 2x per week.
2 Apples
1 bunch celery
3 cucumbers
2 lemons
1 package spinach
Few handfuls of kale
Finish with cayenne pepper if you like spicy (metabolism booster), or turmeric (anti inflammatory)
Blueberry Blast
1 Banana
½ cup blueberries
1 cup almond milk
Pinch Spirulina (superfood!)
Pinch of ground nutmeg
Ice
Blend and enjoy!
Strawberry Sunrise
1 cup strawberries
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
1 banana
1 cup almond milk
Ice
Blend, sip and savor!
Have fun with these recipes. Like I said, make them your own.
I love creating new recipes for healthy drinks, so watch for more ideas.
If you need anything, meet me in the boujie drink aisle.
Have a great week. Cheers!!
